    Description

    1795/4 Guatemala 8 reales. This is the rare overdate variety. While the coin was given a technical grade of NGC AU50 because of rubbing on the bust of King Carolus (It looks like someone rubbed his thumb on the bust a dozen times or so. It still should have graded higher as the bust still has plenty of luster). Every other surface of the coin has purplish hues over mirror-like surfaces. The reverse of the coin is fully Uncirculated, and the fields of the obverse look the same as the reverse. Because of the scarcity of this coin, it is often missing from date sets, and when found is rarely in this nice shape with proof-like surfaces.
