    The two USA Forever stamps featured on this souvenir sheet are steeped in nostalgia. The design of the joined pair of stamps (or tête-bêche, the term used in philatelic terms) depicts how this beloved game has evolved, while the fundamentals have stayed the same. On one stamp, a young man, in modern equipment, plays pond hockey on a winter’s day. The second stamp is a “mirror image” of the first, with the player is dressed in clothing circa 1930-1940s. It is as if the two players are looking down through time, a reminder of how generations in Canada and the U.S. have gathered on frozen ponds and community rinks to test their skills and feel part of a team.
    The souvenir sheet also features a heartwarming image of a father and daughter playing pond hockey. To mark the joint issue, the flags of Canada and the United States are featured next to the stamps.
